Driving the continent’s transformation through the circular economy

The AfriCircular Innovators Programme, funded by the African Development Bank's Africa Circular Economy Facility (ACEF) and in collaboration with the African Circular Economy Alliance, incentivizes circular initiatives across Africa to drive the continent's transformation through the circular economy, fostering sustainable and inclusive growth.

Strategic Sector focus and Tailored Support for Innovation

Aligned with ACEA’s “Five Big Bets”, the AfriCircular Innovators Programme targets sectors with high potential for boosting circularity, economic growth, job creation, and long-term environmental benefits, such as packaging, the built environment, electronics, fashion and textiles, and food systems.

To enable Africa to leverage these “Five Big Bets,” the 30 selected enterprises received tailored and comprehensive technical and financial support to scale their operations and drive innovation within these fields. This includes mentorship, training programs, and access to a network of industry experts.

With Africa’s youthful population poised to become the world’s largest labor pool by 2050, the programme also aims to harness this demographic advantage.
