Création Africa Ghana
Bridging the gap between creative artistry and entrepreneurship
Creation Africa Ghana (CAG), an initiative launched by the French government and overseen by the Cultural and Cooperation Department of the French Embassy in Ghana, aims to empower entrepreneurs in the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs).
Creation Africa Ghana: Incubation Week
After a successful launch event, IHAccra spent June 2024 with 30 CAG finalists, learning, unlearning, and relearning through an engaging incubation program.
Incubation Week was designed as a beneficiary-centered program offering cultural and creative entrepreneurs comprehensive support via comprehensive capacity-building sessions.
Week One focused on IPs and pitching for funds as a creative entity, the essence of community and collaboration, and how best to utilize strategy in an innovative venture.
Week Two featured group mentorship days: hands-on breakout sessions that allowed cohort members to engage with their facilitators and fellow cohort members.
Final Pitch Day
After an intensive week of training, participants pitched their ventures to a panel of investors and industry experts. Pitches were assessed against key criteria:
Business Model Viability – Clear, sustainable, and revenue-driven.
Innovation & Creativity – Fresh ideas that challenge the status quo.
Partnership Potential – Openness to strategic collaboration across sectors.
Traction & Milestones – Tangible progress in market demand, revenue, or user growth.
Team & Inclusivity – Strong, diverse teams with the right skills to execute.
Job Creation – Potential to create employment within the venture’s ecosystem.
Leading up to Pitch Day, participants honed their pitch decks and received expert feedback to sharpen their strategy and storytelling.
CAG Highlights
There were laughs, hard truths to grasp, unforgettable exchanges between cohort members, and many good vibes. Catch a glimpse of the program!
