SEGMI (The Support to the Expansion of the Ghana Music Industry) launched Soundscape, a training program powered by the Centre National de la Musique and Impact Hub Accra.
This music publishing professionalizing program seeks to help participants:
- Gain a 360° understanding of the international music ecosystem.
- Learn how to manage music projects effectively (music project management: planning, budget, logistics, deadlines, etc.).
- Understand the legal environment of music publishing (copyright and music publishing: contracts, copyright management).
- Develop networking and collaboration skills with other music professionals (networking and collaboration).
- Acquire the necessary skills and networks to enter or advance in the music publishing sector.
- Improve their existing business model.
A Collaborative Effort
Soundscape is dedicated to providing accessible, curated training to Ghanaian music professionals, particularly those seeking to make strides in the music publishing sector.
Participants were taken through comprehensive training sessions, one-on-one mentoring, and an intensive boot camp facilitated by a stellar lineup of Ghanaian and French experts.
Our talented ‘Soundscapers’ plunged into four comprehensive training sessions, receiving personalised mentoring from top experts in Ghana and France thanks to France Ghana, Expertise France, AFD, The French Embassy, Creative Arts Agency Ghana, CNM and MOTAC.

Soundscape 2.0: Building Sustainable Music Publishing Businesses
Over the span of two months, IHAccra empowered three talents from our inaugural Soundscape program to build sustainable music publishing businesses in Ghana through mentorship and networking.
With expert guidance on IP and business development, our ventures were engaged in tailored workshops and one-on-one mentorship, with the second edition culminated in an industry event where artists curated a memorable experience.
